Jake Paul Says He’ll Put Joshua To Sleep On Judgement Day

Jake Paul says he’s putting Anthony Joshua to “sleep” by knocking out the “Goliath” in their eight-round fight on Friday, December 19, 2025, on Netflix at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.  The fight will count on the official records.

AJ’s Career on the Line

Paul, 28, apologized to the British fans ahead of time today for what he’s about to do to the former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) at their ‘Judgement Day’ fight next month.

The $267 Million Ambition

The charismatic American Jake Paul is using AJ as a stepping stone to get a world title shot against undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. He’s already revealed his asking price of $267 million for that mega-fight. That fight has a very real possibility of happening if Jake flatlines Joshua on December 19th.

“This is a more dangerous fight than Tank Davis, but it’s a more winnable fight,” said Jake Paul’s manager, Nakisa Bidarian, to Sky Sports about his clash against Joshua. “He’s not as evasive. So, I think if Jake has the right game plan, he has a pretty good shot of winning this fight.”

The power that Jake Paul possesses with his right hand is more than enough to make him a threat to beating Joshua. If he connects with that shot, it’ll be bad for AJ.

Hearn Pretending This Isn’t a Disaster Waiting

Jake is fighting AJ at an all-time low in his career, with him coming off a fifth-round knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. It’s been over a year since that fight on September 21, 2024, and who knows how the 15-month layoff will impact Joshua’s performance. He’s going to need to be 100% for this fight to keep from getting finished off for good by Jake.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, views the Jake Paul fight as a low-risk, “run-out” match to get the rust out to prepare him for a Tyson Fury mega-fight or a world title clash against champion Oleksandr Usyk.

What Happens to Joshua’s Career If Jake Sleeps Him Cold?  If Jake knocks him out, AJ’s hopeless dreams of fighting Tyson Fury will be over. He can also forget about challenging for a world title in a trilogy match with Usyk, as well, because he’s not going to be given an opportunity coming off a KO loss to Jake. Retirement would be the only option available for Joshua, as an expensive four-fight rebuild job wouldn’t fix the problem. No one would take him seriously.

AJ’s Crumbling Punch Resistance

He’s not taking Jake seriously as an opponent with a shot at defeating Joshua. That could be a mistake. AJ’s punch resistance isn’t what it once was, as we witnessed in his KO loss to Dubois last year.

“This isn’t an AI simulation. This is Judgment Day,” said Jake Paul. “A professional heavyweight fight against an elite world champion in his prime. When I beat Anthony Joshua, every doubt disappears, and no one can deny me the opportunity to fight for a world title,” said Jake Paul, giving his thoughts on his fight against Anthony Joshua next month. “To all my haters, this is what you wanted. To the people of the United Kingdom, I am sorry. On Friday, December 19, under the lights in Miami, live globally only on Netflix, the torch gets passed and Britain’s Goliath gets put to sleep. I KNOWWWW YOU GOT EM PICKED HAHAHHA.”

Stop asking me. $267 Million.
